Sipeed Maix M1 AI+lOT Module

In order to allow the Al module to be used in more situations, the Sipeed team also launched a version of the Maix M1 module without WiFi function. If users do not need to use the wireless networking function, they can choose Sipeed Maix M1W module. The AI ​​functions of the Sipeed Maix M1 module and the Sipeed Maix M1W module are the same, and the usage methods are basically the same. The main difference is that the Sipeed Maix M1W module has more WiFi functions than the Sipeed Maix M1 module.

 

1. Sipeed Maix M1 and Sipeed Maix M1W 

The M1/M1W module is an AIOT module designed based on Canaan Kanzhi Technology's edge intelligent computing chip K210 (RISC-V architecture). The main control chip has a built-in 64-bit dual-core high-performance and low-power processor. Each core has a floating-point operation unit (FPU), a convolutional artificial neural network hardware accelerator (KPU) and a fast Fourier transform accelerator (FFT). Equipped with field programmable IO array (FPIOA), it supports a variety of mainstream AI programming frameworks. The M1W module has a built-in ESP8285 WiFi chip with standard 802.11 b/g/n protocol, allowing the module to easily connect to the Internet.

3. M1/M1W Parameter

The M1/M1W Al module system is mainly composed of four parts: power supply (3 Channel DC-DC), Flash chip (16M) circuit, K210 chip and WiFi chip. As the core unit, K210 is very powerful. The chip has a built-in 64-bit dual-core processor and 8M of on-chip SRAM. The module has outstanding performance in AI machine vision and hearing performance. The total computing power of the chip can reach 1TOPS. The chip has a variety of built-in hardware acceleration units (KPU, FPU, FFT, etc.), which can easily implement machine vision/hearing algorithms in various application scenarios. It can also perform pre-processing of voice direction scanning and voice data output. The M1W module is embedded with wireless WiFi function, which can easily realize network control.
