Maix-II-Dock is positioned as a cost-effective AIOT development board. While supporting conventional Linux development, it also has a unique AI hardware acceleration feature. With the complete software ecosystem provided by Sipeed, you can quickly realize your edge AI application.

 

  • Hardware, based on the Allwinner V831 chip, the development board is formed in the form of [core board] + [ext-board]. You can use the development board directly, or you can use only the core board to design your own ext-board according to your needs, which is convenient and fast to complete the development.

 

  • Software, in addition to directly using the datasheet provided by Allwinner for development (some satasheet may need to be obtained from Allwinner), Sipeed provides a very convenient Python SDK (MaixPy3) and C SDK (libmaix). It also provides an online model training service (MaixHub, which is more convenient for beginners to quickly train their usable AI models.

 


1.1. V831 chip brief

 

Allwinner V831, single-core Cortex-A7 800MHz, 64MiB on-chip DDR2 memory, cost-effective SOC that can run Linux, and supports hardware AI acceleration (0.2Tops computing power), can be used as a normal Linux SOC, and can also be used for edge AI application.     Maix-II-Dock Getting Started Development Route Guide

     

    • Because Maix-II-Dock runs linux system (tina-linx), so we need to learn to burn the system image first, just like learning how to reinstall the computer system, which helps us start over if you encounter problems, find the "Burn image" article in the left directory to view

    • Learn basic Linux operations, such as how to open a terminal, basic terminal commands, and how to transfer files to the development board, such as serial port usage, adb usage, and other basic operations


    • Select your development language:
      • If you are familiar with C and have some development experience, you can choose to use libmaix
      • If you want to get started quickly and develop in Python, please use MaixPy3 and read its documentation carefully


    • If you need to use AI functions, you can use it with the MaixHub online training platform, this platform provides AI model and project sharing function, save users's time.


    Maix-II brief

    Following the classic K210 Maix-I series AIOT boards, Sipeed continues to launch a number of edge computing boards that can run a complete Linux system, which will be named MAIX-II and MAIX-III in order of performance.

    The MAIX-II series includes a variety of hardware products currently:

    • Maix-II Dock: Recommended products in this series, the chip is Allwinner V831, a cost-effective SOC that can run Linux, and supports hardware AI acceleration (0.2Tops computing power), currently have the best software support in Maix-II series, provide C SDK and Python SDK, and online model training service (MaixHub)

    • MaixSense: The chip is Allwinner R329, which also provides hardware AI acceleration, 0.25Tops computing power.

    • Maix-II-S: The chip is Allwinner V833, an upgraded version of V831, which is mainly used for commercial customization, and individual users should choose carefully.


    2. MaixII Dock

    3. MaixSense

    The chip is Allwinner R329, dual-core A53@1.5GHz, on-chip 256MiB DDR3 memory, dual-core HiFi4@400MHz also provides hardware AI acceleration, 0.25Tops computing power, more good at audio field, support armbian system.

    There are many official open materials, and it is more suitable for developers with strong hands-on ability at present.

     

     


    4. MaixII S

     

    It can be understood as a performance upgrade version of V831. Programs on V831 can be directly run on V833. This development board only supports commercial users. Personal users are recommended to choose Maix-II-Dock development board.

      Browser Differences

      Apple Pay and Venmo availability on Shopify can vary depending on the browser and device used:

      Apple Pay:

      Apple Pay is primarily supported on Safari browsers running on compatible Apple devices. According to Shopify, Apple Pay can be accepted directly in your online store using the Safari browser on Mac and iOS devices. This means that customers using Safari on their iPhones, iPads, or Macs can utilize Apple Pay for transactions. However, Apple Pay may not be available on other browsers like Chrome, even on Apple devices. Users have reported that the Apple Pay button does not display on Chrome browsers.

      Venmo:

      Venmo's availability as a payment option on Shopify is less straightforward. Shopify does not natively support Venmo as a direct payment method. However, merchants can offer Venmo indirectly through PayPal integration. When PayPal is enabled, customers may see a Venmo payment option if they are using the mobile version of the Chrome browser on iOS devices and have the Venmo app installed.
